A couple of questions about historical data requests

First, thank you guys so much for offering this service. It looks incredible and very flexible!!

I am trying to determine whether this API, or some other feature of Weather Underground can meet my needs in an iphone application.

1. I have a dataset of approximately 1,000 cities across the world. some of these cities do not line up precisely to the WU city names. I would like to pull in historical information for a city based on an ambiguous search. If this is not possible, I am open to changing the names of every city in the dataset to match up with its equivalent in WU, but I would prefer not to do so.

2. In addition to, or in the alternative to the above, would it be possible to craft an ambiguous search for historical information that will send the user to WU to view the data on the WU website?

3. Looking around, I believe the answer is no, but I want to specifically ask whether it is possible to pull average weather over a seven day period in a historical search?

Play around with the history search on our site. You'll see that ambiguous searches end up going to the right historical information. http://www.wunderground.com/history/

Use the API geolookup to pass an ambiguous search to our db and then use the first airport call letters to get the history data. The airport call letters can be used in the API and on wunderground.com to get to the right history location.

The average data you're looking for is in the Travel Planner data set, which gets average weather data for a date range.
