Access to PWS data

Hi,
two questions concerning the "new" API rules.

1) When getting an API key by providing the data of my own PWS, will I only be able to retrieve the data of my own PWS or will I also have access to the data of other PWSs?

2) Is there any other way (other than providing own data) to access the data of individual PWSs? E.g. a paid IBM account?

Thanks!

(1.) Yes you can read the data of any pws which is very useful when your website serves a large county like in my case.  There are 24 zip codes and about the same number of weather stations around me.

(2.) Not that I am aware of other than a paid IBM account which will give you access.  Google: Weather Company Data on the IBM Cloud for details.

Emery is correct.  The PWS API allows for access to any PWS on the network, up to 1500 calls per day and/or 30 calls per minute.  Documentation for it is here:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eKCnKXI9xnoMGRRzOL1xPCBihNV2rOet08qpE_gArAY/edit

Paid subscribers to the "Enhanced" package also have access to the PWS network.  More information and a form to fill out for contact by a sales representative is here:
http://biz.weather.com/WU-Data-API_Data-Package-Demo-Request.html

Questions about the API can be posted here to the Forum, or to the feedback form on the Weather Underground feedback site (path:  footer on wunderground.com > Contact > Website Assistance & Support > Email Us (on the bottom).  I'm including the path here because the URL may be changing and I don't want anyone to find a dead link in the future.

It is better to put questions you don't want to put on the public forum in feedback rather than emailing me directly.  It's still me who will be answering, but this helps management track my work.  If you don't get a reply fast enough, email me with the case number.  But I'm not just API support anymore.

Thanks a lot - Emery & Victoria - for your feedback!

@Victoria: I guess there are still no news on whether and when the digits will come back to the API (e.g. for the temperature)?

If by "digits" you mean decimal places, aka precision, no, there is no new public information on it.  It is in the process.  I think if I nag any more on that, the programmers will start throwing their shoes at me.
