Is there a mechanism for accessing the JSON data which appears in the forecast (displayed as a graph or table) in the new Wunderground (currently in Beta) as the value of "wui.bootstrapped.API"?

Example:

...
"date": {
"epoch": 1393772400,
"iso8601": "2014-03-02T10:00:00-0500",
"tz_offset_hours": -5.00
},
"temperature": -12,
"dewpoint": -17,
"condition": "Mostly Cloudy",
"icon": "mostlycloudy",
"icon_url": "//icons-ak.wxug.com/i/c/v1/mostlycloudy.svg",
"wind_speed": 11,
"wind_dir": "NNW",
"wind_dir_degrees": 344,
"humidity": 66,
"pop": 3,
"precip_type": "snow",
"liquid_precip": 0,
"snow": 0,
"pressure": 1030,
"windchill": -18,
"heatindex": null,
"feelslike": -18,
"uv_index": 2,
"cloudcover": 73
}
....

The data you list can already be accessed through the API, unless I'm missing something. What part of the beta site do you want to access that you cannot currently get through the API?

There are a few items in that JSON object that I can't find elsewhere: cloudcover (data that I recall another API user was asking for), uv_index, precip_type, etc. Maybe some of those pieces of data are available under a feature that I haven't fully explored yet.

I just noticed that the top of this object refers to "version: 2.0". Is this API available to the "public" yet (if not yet, then when or not ever)? Any documentation on what features can be accessed through this API?

Yes, the API 2.0 is something we access internally, but we haven't rolled it out yet (it's still in testing). Those features will be available once we do.

Any guesses as to when API v2.0 might be made public? Are you open to suggestions for features (like "almanac", for getting normal and record temps)?

Do you mind if we use it (knowing that the API, not being released, is "subject to change without notice")?

Thanks,
Tim

We don't have a date yet. The features are pretty much set for this release, but we're welcoming suggestions for later updates.

The site will block scraping. If it's just a bit, you might avoid being blocked. But it's not something we'd support.
