Animated Radar - Incorrect Time Zone

Is there a way to get the time stamp on the animated radar image to display a different time zone? It is currently being returned as CDT and I'd like to have it as EDT since that's what we observe.

I'm using the following URL: http://api.wunderground.com/api/myKey...

We'll look into this, probably a bug in how we figure out timezone.

Hi there,

You can supply the tzname manually too:

Just add tzname= to the URL

eg add "&tzname=America/New_York" to the query.

Thanks,
John

If the code is the same as for the satellite images that setting does not work.
When used with satellite images it changes the timezone label but does not affect the time calculation.
There are more details here where I reported that behavior before.

Hi,

The issue is that you must pass timezone as the UNIX timezone name.

EDT/EST is "America/New_York"

I found a decent list here:

I hope that helps,
John
