Hello, i tried to use the free package to request the city - Hiroshima (Japan), however, no data can be retreived. May I ask if there is any limitation in the free package? Will the same problem occurs in the paid package?

There aren't any restrictions like that. Could you let me know the request that you're using? (Just remove the key before you post it here.)

That can sometimes happen if we have a duplicate entry. Use the L return from what you did get, and make this:

http://api.wunderground.com/api/__YOU...

The international character / language support is a bit sketchy now, so it might work or it might not, depending on whether or not we have it in the system. Lat / long is always the best way to go if possible.

thanks very much for your reply, william.

once i got two entries return, how do I know which entry is the one i want? What does 'zmw:00000.3.47789' means?

in the full list of the cities : http://www.rap.ucar.edu/weather/surfa...
i only found around 14x cities for Japan. However, in the weather.com site : http://www.weather.com/outlook/weathe..., i can found over 1000 cities for Japan. So could you please tell me if can i request all the cities that stated in weather.com? Is there any full list of cities that i can make request?

If no full list of the cities that i can check, can i attach the city list here and you help me to check?

It is because i have to make sure those cities will have info to return before we purchasing the package.

many thanks for you help again.

You can use either of the returns when there are multiple, and they should work.

I don't have a way of checking a big list for you. I'm sorry!

I believe that the zmw value is a combination of the zip, magic, and wmo for the location. For US cities, the wmo is set to 99999 and the zip is the US zip code. For international cities, the zip is set to 00000 and the wmo is the 5-digit World Meteorological Organization (WMO) ID. If you use .../q/zmw:00000.3.47789.json in your query, you will see that the "observation_location" is "Hiroshima Airport". If you use .../q/zmw:00000.1.47765.json in your query, you will see that the "observation_location" is "Iwakuni MCAS". The data returned gives you lat and lon data too, so it is not too hard to figure out which one you want if you just look.
