Api servers sending bogus data

For the past couple of months we have been experiencing many problems retrieving data from the api servers.  Often times the servers will either time out, send malformed xml data, forecasts that only include 2 or 0 days in advance instead of 10, or "this website cannot be reached" messages.  Lately the data that has been coming has been incorrect.  Temperatures and conditions wildly out of touch with reality. eg: Sunny and in the 60's all day in real life, but api respond with -4° and snowing for the same location.

Previously this service was quite dependable, but the recent degradation of service is a problem.  I'm also disappointed that there's no way to contact anyone at WU for support other than through this community.  Can someone at WU please help?  Thank you.

I also experience this issue regularly with several different forecast requests. Here are some examples

http://api.wunderground.com/api/API_KEY/conditions/forecast/q/17201.json
http://api.wunderground.com/api/API_KEY/conditions/forecast/q/46074.json

It's not bogus data in my case, but the data comes from January this year. This is a pretty huge flaw, i hope this can be fixed soon.

I also contacted help@wunderground.com directly for this, as I experienced it to be more responsive than this forums. Last reply from officials here is 2 months ago

Thanks for the tip. I emailed help@weather underground.com five days ago and still haven't received a reply. I'm currently looking into alternatives, like aeris, because this kind of service is pathetic for the prices we pay monthly.

You should switch to Aeris. I did about a year ago. Was the best move I have made with my weather site. I can only recall 1 issue with them and after I reported it I was contacted within 1 day and it was resolved. Since then there have been zero issues.

I'm in the process of working it into our data flow now. I really like the mapping capabilities. I just wish they did international for our European clients.

I'm thinking maybe their Akamai CDN is serving up a cached version? It's sad there are no responses on this thread from wunderground

Fix it on your end. Check the response forecast date, if it is today cache the response and display it. If the date is not today, display the cache. I ask for a 10 day forecast every hour and always display my cached value reducing the number of requests I make to wu and hiding their issue of returning January 3 data. The forecast is advertised as updating every 3 hours but this is not always true.

Whether I fix it on my end or not, the issue remains an error on weather underground's end which has been happening for quite some time.  As I mentioned in the original post, the service from the api servers has been in decline for weeks and this is just the most recent issue.

As for this forum not being the way to report problems, why do they have a "problems" section to which you can post?  I also mentioned in a response above that I have emailed "help@weatherunderground.com" and still have not heard a response.  The "contact us" page suggests filling out a service request but when I do so, the page responds with "Validation failed: weather_underground is invalid" when choosing how I get my weather.  Finally, the phone number on the contact page has been disconnected.

I'm sorry, but there doesn't seem to be any support for this product which is a shame because it used to be a decent service.

Just FYI that an official replied to this issue on https://apicommunity.wunderground.com/weatherapi/topics/frequently-incorrect-highs-lows-hourly-data-.... They're aware of the issue.
