There are API timeout issues happening right now. IT is working on the problem, and I will post here when it is updated and working correctly again. I'm sorry for the trouble this has caused.

Thanks for the update.

After you get this cleared up, please consider making a dedicated status page for your API. It took a bit of digging to get to this forum post that identified the API timeouts as a known issue that's being worked on. A status page would make it much easier to get that information. Something like this (built on https://www.statuspage.io/) would be great:

Thanks!

That's a great resource and good idea. I'll add it to the product list. I don't want to rely on twitter for things like that.

I am also in favor of a dedicated status page. Something queryable (json?) so we can alert the app users if necessary/desired.

The API has been restored. We have tracked the bug to a database issue and restarted the service. We are going to monitor the database and make sure everything stays up and running. Thanks for your patience, and we will be looking into a status page/feed.

Yes, please add an API status page, or at least post issues on your WeatherAPI twitter feed.

As of 11:33am EST, on 3/29/2014, I'm having timeouts when trying to acquire the gif and png radar images. Any reasons why this is happening?
