Are geo-spatial data returned in API calls for severe weather alerts?

Is there an API call that returns vertices of a geo-shape representing severe weather areas? We already make API calls to get severe weather alerts, but the returned XML does not contain lat/long vertices, only a short description of the affected area.

I see that there are vertices in the returned JSON for the API call for alerts, but only in some cases. I just did a call for a severe thunderstorm warning in South Carolina and got vertices in the "StormBased" property. However, another call for a city in Ohio currently under a flood watch returned no vertices. Both are mapped on the WunderMap. Under what conditions are geo-spatial data returned in the JSON response for alert API calls?
