Thanks for your response, i probably didn't explains this well.
I am currently looking at iPhone development and i using the api to get weather information. Now once i download the current condition data, it provides the icon name and icon url as well as other information. But i do not want to use the icon set in the link you provided. i want to use a custom icon. So i need to know all the possible current condition "current condition icon names" so that i can build my dictionary of name with the appropriate images.

http://www.wunderground.com/weather/a...

if you scroll down on the page from the link above, you see current condition phrases, but i want to know the "current condition icon name". If you scroll further down, you will find " forecast description phrases" which has the appropriate icon names.

if all the "current condition icons names" are a subset of the "forecast condition icons names"
Then do rain and drizzle (for example) have the same icon?

I appreciate any help provided on this topic.

Thanks

You're welcome
I think that forecast and conditions features api are using the same values in their icon fields, even if docs are not clear about this (okay, and other things too... but WU service is nice). If I were you, I would expect just one shared "dictionary" of values for all icon fields in the api.

Anyway an official reply from a WU representative is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again! i am also reaching that conclusion, but as you say it would be great if a WU official confirms this.

Its true, you can use 1 directory of images. This page might help in conjunction with Phrase Glossary: http://www.wunderground.com/weather/a...

And yes, we essentially match many different current condition phrases to the same icon. So many things can equal "rain.gif". You're not required to use gifs either, they can be any image you want if you're hosting them locally.
