History data doesn't include some hours

http://api.wunderground.com/api/{{key...

This returns this JSON: https://gist.github.com/lisbakke/0f9a...

Notice the dates. There are no entries for 12am -> 5am. 6AM is reported twice and so is 9AM.

How do I get the full history for today? I am trying to show all of today's weather by hour -- both history, current and predictions.

Some locations, especially in remote areas will not have history every hour, especially at night.  When airports close, often times the weather observer goes home.   We will be releasing a new type of interpolated observation in the future that will help combat this problem, but at the moment, we can only give you history that has actually been recorded.

As for the doubling, airports have multiple types of observations, we don't know which you are most interested in, so you get them all!  You can filter out the less frequent ones, you will notice the "metar" field starts with METAR in the hourly obs, and AAXX in the 3 hourly observations.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a way to get the previous weather predictions? If I can't get the historical weather at 3am for earlier today then it would still be useful to have Wunderground's prediction for 3am's weather.

Unfortunately, that is not possible at the moment, our forecast is now on demand, which means it is generated on the fly for your specific point, the on demand forecasting does not "forecast" into the past.
