Is there a way to increase the number of free api calls if you have a weather station uploading data to WU?

I have a personal weather station (Ambient Weather WS-1200-IP) that uploads its weather data to the Weather underground every 10 seconds of so.  I'm working on a wall mounted display that is driven by a Raspberry Pi that reads the data from the weather underground and displays it on an alphanumeric display.  All works well but to fit into the "free" category of the API I can only make calls with my API key every 3 minutes.  This seems a little one sided as my station is uploading at a sub minute rate.  Is there a way I can get more hits on my API if I associate my weather station to my account somehow?  I have found that during a storm getting the wind speed as close to real time as possible is must have!   Every 3 minutes is just way too slow for real time data.  I would be okay just pulling wind-speed and direction at that rate and all other data every 3 minutes.

Sorry if this has been covered else-ware.  I did some searching and nothing came up.

Why every 3 minutes?  You have 500 hits per day, and 10 per minute on the free account.  How is the 3 minute part happening?
