Is it normal that the temperatures in the simpleforecast section don't match the temperatures on the website for the same location?

I try to cross-check the data from the JSON and the website. For the same location, I get different temperatures from both the API (simpleforecast section) and the website.

I was wandering, if it's normal for technical reasons that this could happen?

Could you give me an example of such a situation?

For instance, now if I check for Boston. For the day of Thursday we have 77 / 66 F on the website. In the JSON, I get 75 / 64 F instead.

Here's the JSON snippet and a screenshot of the data on the website.

Is this solved?

I posted a separate question 2 days ago on the same subject. It seems that API data (I tested a lot of locations in xml response files) is different than WU website data - and when I say different, it really is. almost every field is not matching in /forecast10day/ and /hourly/ with website data... (and the website data looks much more accurate...

Please let us know.

Many thanks.

We are running 2 forecast systems right now. We are testing our new and improved system on the site, and will be rolling it into the API soon. They will be different until then.

Many thanks Brendan.

Any indication on timeline when the improved forecast data will be rolled out into API? i.e. days/weeks/months?

Most likely in January.

Many thanks. Looking forward to the change in API data. The WU website is much more accurate.

I'm testing different APIs providers for a new weather website, and I have to say that so far the WU website proved to be the best. Hope the API will match it very soon, so we can move forward with WU.

Thanks again.

Hi WU Team/Brendan,

Can you please update us on where we are on this issue? I know you mentioned January as the target for the API to match the Website data, and given we are in the middle of the month I thought you might have a better timeframe to communicate.

Thanks.

We're still working on the new forecast system and testing its accuracy and performance.

We don't have a hard date set for the transition, as it's dependent on how well the system is performing.

It is still different for me. I don't feel I can use the api.
