I'm looking for a call I can use to get back how many times the API has been used in a given minute and day to make sure I don't go over my usage limits.

There isn't an API call for this yet. Although it's an awesome idea!
You would need to grab it from the content of:
http://www.wunderground.com/weather/api
Obviously that's not user-friendly for a script.
I just added this feature request to our backlog. Hopefully we can get to it soon.
Thanks,
John

Ive linked my user to pvoutput.org. (home solar)
I was sent an email from wunderground today saying my api had exceeded its 500 limit ??
No idea what it means. Can the time a call gets made be varied or do I have to ask at pvoutput.org?

Hi there,
Did you instruct pvoutput.org to make requests to your Wunderground API key? If so, you would need to limit how many queries pvoutput is performing.
I don't quite understand how you are using our API.
Thanks,
John

Hi
I seem to be having exactly the same issue as bazzle, mid 540s for the past 2 days.
Yesterday I reckoned it could be to do with database initial data loading, however I've received another email this morning .....
It would be useful if it was possible to retrieve a log of data requests to establish exactly what the pattern of activity causing this is .....
Cheers

(01/06) - No email today, so it's likely that the high number of requests is linked to initial data loading ...

Hi
This API call would be a tremendous feature.
Actually it could be great to get the constraints about the plan (calls per month/day/minutes) in the same request than the current status of the requests made.
Thanks for the help!

Is there progress on this? I'm curious if there is currently a way to see the API limit and how many of those calls have been used.

Hi everyone,
We need to fast-track this feature. I really understand the need for it.
I'll talk to the developer again today and see if we can squeeze it in.
Sorry for the delay!
Thanks,
John

Hi, I would also like to see this feature.
It would be nice if the number of requests per day was returned in the 'response' with every call.
edit: or better yet in accordance with CodeCommander's idea above.

Hi John, it's been about a year now. Any chance we could get this or http://gsfn.us/t/358g1 back on the "fast track"? :)

Any update on this?
We track daily hits to our feed and it's a pain to do it manually through a web browser. It would be very useful to retrieve that info programatically through an API.

However it does not contain the current plan information, that can be found on the analytics page easily.
Nevertheless, it would be great to have an API available for this information.
