PWS Offline - it was working fine for the last year plus. Then, pow, offline. No reason. No error message. No help. Nothing.
Station is Hilltop on Grange Road. Equipment is WS-1200 OBSERVER.

Gigi, PWSs go offline for a wide variety of reasons, most of which have nothing at all to do with Weather Underground.  A cable could have come loose.  Batteries died.  The instrument itself may have developed some issue.

You should dig out your owner's manual and start the process of checking it.  Determining the problem can take some time, so set aside a few hours for the process.  Good luck!

What is the "it" I should start checking? There should be somewhere a checklist or diagram of the system, and how to check each point. I know the outside sensors are reporting to the stations in the house. Where to I go from there?

Gigi, there are too many different instruments for us to have this online at Weather Underground.  Look for the web site of your PWS's manufacturer, or the paper copies of the owner's manual, which almost always include instructions from problem-shooting.

What you need to do is test each step of the network.  If you know the station is working, and it's getting into the house, are the routers between "in the house" and the outside internet working robustly?  Have they been rebooted and updated recently?  (If not, they probably should be.)  Are the station ID and upload key entered properly in the interface with Weather Underground?  Has the software that send the data from your house to WU been updated recently?  Does it need to be?  That may be different from the software running your station.

OK, I guess I am willing to trace it down. But I have one question first. When it comes back on line will I be able to see the stations around me again? Somehow the map is gone too.

The map is likely a whole different issue.  To help you with that, I'd need to know a lot more specifics.  You might want to email me directly about that.
