Small interval historical data by gps location

I'm doing research into factors that can affect a person over a certain distance and time. I need to gather historical weather data in small intervals, like 5-30 minutes, from a gps location.

For instance, I need the data from the closest station, by GPS coordinate, at 5:30.
Then, at 5:35, I need to repeat the process with a different set of GPS coordinates.

Is this possible with Wunderdground?

You can get weather info (including historical data) via lat / long, but most locations' histories will be at hour intervals, not 5-30 minutes.

So, is there no way to access the 5 min intervals that you can find on the site for a then weather station by ID?

If you have the weather station ID, yes:

But using lat / long will result in the nearest airport's station being used:

Ok. Neither of those links worked for me. I'm assuming because I don't have a key. But it sounds like I've got what I want. Let me make sure.

Let's say I have a file with GPS coordinates. If I can get the nearest station by station ID, I can then pass that station ID to the API for a certain day and time in the near past (at the most a week) and get back the weather at that station within a 5 minute window. Is this correct?

Yes, as long as that station has weather data in 5 minute increments. Not all stations do.
