We are experiencing network connectivity problems at the moment. Our IT team is on site and working on the problem immediately. I will update here again when the problem is solved and traffic begins to flow like normal.

Thank you for your patience.

Any further update? We're still experiencing issues connecting. For example:

They are tracing the routing to see where the problem lies. It is still being investigated and looked into.

Service has been restored to the API. Our IT staff are monitoring the situation to make sure traffic continues to flow correctly. I'm sorry for the problems this outage has caused for your use of the Weather API.

My logs indicate that the service was down, or at least vastly less responsive than normal, from 7:33am PST to 4:46pm PST.

For those of us who pay for the service, it might be nice to get something more than just an explanation. Although that would be nice too.

It's working at the moment. I'm afraid to check the 1 star reviews and ratings our app got during the almost half day of interruption... :-(

As the reputation is low now, users will notice more where the data is coming from. "Wunderground" or even "Weather Underground" doesn't sound reliable at all. "Underground" or "Wunder" (similar to Wonder...) aren't terms which should be used for weather service which is expected to deliver reliable forecasts. Users don't know, that Wunderground is probably the most wide spread weather API (even though this doesn't need to be a prove of reliability). As Wunderground has been bought by the The Weather Channel, you should think about a name change...

Several of the things you mention @demodit are in the works.

For anyone who pays for the service I am happy to credit raindrops into your account to make up for the downtime. There's nothing in the terms about crediting money, but I understand the headache caused by the outage and I'd like to help where I can. Email our tech support with your key and we can add raindrops. http://help.wunderground.com/
