vism and visi in history request

I've been starting to work with the API, and I noticed that the history response object content contains both a field labeled vism and visi. I can't quite tell what's the difference between these two, but I have a feeling they both are related to visibility. The documentation doesn't make it very clear what these two are referring to in a history observation. Could someone explain these two fields to me?

As you mentioned, documentation is not at best right now; trying to get to the solution, I believe vism and visi are referring to visibility in metric and imperial units (respectively in km and mi)
