Add New Zealand to the list too.. been going on since late last week.. Still ongoing.. Thanks for the great service Weather Underground but this is starting to make our websites (which many of us put countless hours into) look rather amateur now..

Gold Star award about to be revoked WUnderground! (5 consecutive days..)

Hi guys! i have the same issue in Alanya,Turkey but in 'planner' part. Do you have any information about this city is inside or outside of the city list in api response? I mean do you know  the city is affected by the stiuation or already like this?

No, that's not related to this issue.  It might just be that we don't have history data for that particular city.

has something broken again?

Seems like there are problems again. The last 2 days gradually more and more API calls return incomplete data. The last few hours are the worst so far.

I hope that this time the problem will be fixed soon and it will not be allowed to get as bad as it happened the last time.

Yep, the problem has returned again. No fcttext_metric  for me either now.

{"period": 1,"icon": "nt_clear","icon_url": "http://icons.wxug.com/i/c/k/nt_clear.gif","title": "Monday Night","fcttext": "Mostly clear. Low 33F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.","fcttext_metric": "","pop": "10"},

If your IT department cannot replicate it then you need a new IT department. the issue is STILL there.

"fcttext":"Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. High 42F. Winds N at 15 to 25 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.",

Seems to be a serious issue because it still (or again) exists.
I wrote a Javascript code to convert fcttext to fcttext_metric. So it converts F to C and mph to km/h. Probably there are certain situations where my script does not get all of the values but for my about 10 test strings it worked. May me it can help some of you:

<script>
fcttext="Meistens klar. Höchsttemperatur 58F. Wind aus W mit 5 bis 10 mph.";

rx = /(\d+F)/;
arr = rx.exec(fcttext);
if (arr) {
extracted = arr[1];
extracted_mark=extracted;
extracted = extracted.replace("F", "");
extracted = extracted*1;
extracted = Math.round((extracted-32)/1.8);
extracted = extracted+"°C";
fcttext=fcttext.replace(extracted_mark, extracted);
}

rx = /(\d+ bis +\d+ mph)/;
arr = rx.exec(fcttext);
if (arr) {
extracted = arr[1];
extracted_mark=extracted;

rx = /(\d+ )/;
arr = rx.exec(extracted);
extracted1 = arr[1];

extracted1 = extracted1.replace(" mph", "");
extracted1 = extracted1*1;
extracted1 = Math.round(extracted1*1.61);

rx = /(\d+ mph)/;
arr = rx.exec(extracted_mark);
extracted2 = arr[1];
extracted2 = extracted2.replace(" mph", "");
extracted2 = extracted2*1;
extracted2 = Math.round(extracted2*1.61);

fcttext=fcttext.replace(extracted_mark, extracted1+' bis '+ extracted2+' km/h');

rx = /(\d+ mph)/;
arr = rx.exec(fcttext);
if (arr) {
extracted = arr[1];
extracted_mark=extracted;
extracted = extracted.replace(" mph", "");
extracted = extracted*1;
extracted = Math.round(extracted*1.61);
extracted = extracted+" km/h";
fcttext=fcttext.replace(extracted_mark, extracted);
}
alert(fcttext);

</script>

I forgot: My script works with german text but there are only two points where you have to adjust it a bit. In the example text at the top you can find "[..] Wind aus W mit 5 bis 10 mph." Translated: Wind from W with 5 to 10 mph.
There are two lines in the code where the expression "bis" is part of the code. Just adjust this word and the code will work. I think most of the western languages are similar in that expression "from 5 to 10" or "de 5 à 10" so the adjustment should be easy.

Best regards
Marc
