Weather station offline

What happens when a weather station is offline? Does it depend on if the request is either a latitude, longitude pair or a pws id? If it is offline, is the next best weather station used for both types of queries? This is for historical measurements.

The closest weather station is used when one is offline.

Just to be clear, this is also the case when the query is for a pws id?

We don't support WordPress code we didn't write, so I'm not sure what your problem might be. I can't see your full URL so I'm not sure if its because of the WP code or the URL itself.

If a station is offline is it still possible to look at the history? I can't see how to do find it on wunderground for a station that was reporting to wunderground for some years, has gone permanently offline, but has left a huge amount of observation on the wunderground database. If data isn't accessible like that then there's not much point creating and building such a useful record?

Using pws... I have a preferred pws in my area. When it doesn’t report updates in 2 hrs., I then check the next pws I like in my area. If that one is showing old data also, I default to a city lookup (which sometimes worthlessly reports very distant stations). Could be program will freeze up or otherwise error if the WU site id/connection is actually deleted. Usually, these pws's I track come back in a few weeks or so (assume issues at those locations got solved).
