When looking at the source of the weather data of different stations, I often find "metar:"metar [...]". For example, for the following place : 47.45000076,0.72000003 I have this : "metar":"METAR LFOT 282300Z 20006KT CAVOK 10/07 Q1013 NOSIG"

However, sometimes I have something different, i.e for this place: 54.18333435,12.08333302
I have this : "metar":"AAXX 29201 10170 41683 72205 10096 20066 30083 40099 51017 72511 875// 333 55300 20000 30000"

What des "AAXX" mean? Is this file different from a Metar? Is it like a "SPECI"?

Thanks a lot for your help!

AAXX data is surface synoptic reports, and are provided less often than METAR.
