What exactly does the qpf field contain? Is it the amount of rain expected, or the water equivalent of all precipitation. Reason is, I have a response where the temperature is -8C all day, snow amount is 10.16cm and qpf amount is 0.5mm! Rain is unlikely if it is -8C. How do I get the rain and snow amounts?

The qpf field should show the amount of precipitation detected from the sensor. It's good for rain, but won't be accurate for snow (although it can be reasonably close to the water equivalent).
