Why would /q/autoip.json ever return query not found?

I'm new to the wunderground API and launched an app a few days ago.

I have an automatic location feature, and it starts by using this URL:

http://api.wunderground.com/api/mykey...

Once the device has a GPS fix, it will then use it's coordinates (which I have not yet seen a query not found for).

In the developer console, I'm seeing many querynotfound errors.for the autoip.json URL.

Shouldn't it always return something and that query always be valid?

For example, lets say I'm on the moon, shouldn't it return at least a default location, say NY, NY or London, UK, or something like that?

Or worded differently, in what cases would it return a query not found?

Or I suppose even another way, does this go against my quota if autoip cannot be found? If it does not then I'm not really concerned. However if this will go against my stats I'm wondering if I should continue to use autoip, or if there is a recommended alternative.

Thanks in advance!
